Jordan Harrison, a Bainbridge Island native currently living in New York, is regarded as one of the most exciting new voices in experimental theatre. He has published a number of plays - among them Kid-Simple, Finn in the Underworld, The Museum Play, Fit for Feet And Other Short Plays, Act A Lady, Amazons and Their Men, Doris to Darlene: A Cautionary Valentine, and Futura, a play on the social significance of fonts.  Several of Harrison's productions have premiered at the internationally acclaimed Humana Festival while others have been performed at Portland Center Stage, Berkeley Rep, Clubbed Thumb, and the American Conservatory Theatre. Harrison’s play Marjorie Prime, a 2015 Pulitzer Prize finalist, premiered at the Mark Taper Forum and had its New York premiere that same fall at Playwrights Horizons. The New York Times calls Marjorie Prime "a thought-provoking play about memory, its corruption and our insistence that technology help us outwit death." A film adaptation of the play is currently in production. Harrison is also the recipient of many prestigious awards and recognitions.
