Speculative Fiction Writing Cooperative

Speculative Fiction Writing Cooperative
Meeting continuously since 1999, the Speculative Fiction Writing Cooperative (SFWC) encourages Bainbridge Island writers to develop their interest in speculative fiction - an umbrella term that includes science fiction, fantasy, hard science, horror, slipstream fiction, myth, mystery, magical realism, and more. The group's original members are Ann Lovejoy and Paul Hanson. To date SFWC has published two anthologies - Off the Ecliptic (2004) and Obliquity: Speculative Fiction from the Pacific Northwest (2006). The latter includes short stories by Paul Hanson, Daniel Monk, Vicki Saunders, Verne Wade, Charles Walbridge, and Christine Wyatt. A third anthology is currently in the making.
