Maureen D McQuerry - YA Fiction, Children's Picture Books
We
welcome Maureen Doyle McQuerry to our list of Bainbridge Island authors.
Maureen is an award winning poet, novelist and teacher. Her YA novels (
The Peculiars,
Time Out of
Time series, and
Wolfproof trilogy) have been featured on many "best books" lists. McQuerry's latest novel,
Between
Before & After, is an historical coming-of-age YA story about the complex
bonds between mothers and daughters. A dual narrative explores the nature of
family secrets, resiliency, and redemption. Maureen also has had two picture book series recently published,
Big Ideas for Little Philosophers and
Big Ideas for Little Environmentalists. McQuerry says that she's been collecting
interesting bits since she was six and decided she wanted to be a writer. She enjoys presenting to students and adults
and is a frequent contributor at writing conferences. She thinks libraries are
