Robert Lucas

Robert Lucas is an imaginative, innovative artist who works in many media and has brightened the art scene on Bainbridge Island for more than two decades.

His work is frequently shown at Bainbridge Arts and Crafts and major galleries in the West and has been purchased by the City of Bainbridge Island 1% for the Arts program.

Working with local school children he created the seat outside the entrance to the young people's library (downstairs in the new library using a variety of local found objects, including the shells of native marine animals. 

Lucas works in many media: glass, sculpture, collage, ceramics, and most recently film. He had a one-man show of mixed media works in the library during July 1999.  His yard art of concrete and steel sculptures can be seen throughout the Pacific Northwest, and his works have been shown at the Seattle Art Museum, Whatcom County Museum, the Olympia Art Museum, and the Boise Art Museum.
